Repair Considerations

We repair all makes and models of hearing aids. We are only limited by the age of the instrument since many components may be discontinued from being manufactured. A general rule of thumb is that if your aids are older than 5 years most manufacturers do not provide replacement parts and you may want to consider  new hearing aids. Their are three reasons that standout for this consideration.

1. The age of the unit as stated.

2. Your hearing may have changed and require a different prescription than when originally purchased.

3. New technology. You may be surprised at what's available as an inexpensive alternative.

If you do proceed with the option to repair your hearing aids, take a look at the pictures below and compare the styles with your current aids. Though there are many brands and styles, we are able to repair pretty much anything you request unless the required components are unavailable.

Forget paying high priced repair charges from a local dealer! You can trust D.i.Y.'s "factory trained" hearing aid repair technicians to be a resource when it comes to repairing your hearing aids economically & quickly. If you currently wear hearing aids or know someone who with aids that are performing at less than optimum level or especially if they don't work at all, it may be an appropriate decision for you to have your current hearing aids repaired. Certain conditions such as the age, make or condition of the instrument may not allow a cost effective repair however, such as an instrument older than 5 years. If that is the case D.i.Y. will promptly inform you and offer one of our inexpensive hearing aid alternatives, and possibly even a trade-in discount of $50 to $100 depending on trade-in. D.i.Y. does repair all make and types of hearing aids, including, but not limited to the following brands:

Here's Our Simple D.i.Y. Repair Price List

Our hearing aid repair technicians go through each hearing aid in detail.  We clean, sanitize, and then replace or repair hearing aid components that are not performing to specifications. 

Standard Hearing Aid Repair Service -     $  99 per aid + S&H     

Includes six (6) month warranty.

Premium Hearing Aid Repair Service -    $ 129 per aid + S&H    
Includes one (1) year warranty, hearing aid batteries and a unique & effective hearing aid cleaning tool. 

Rush Hearing Aid Repair Service -              Add $ 39 per aid       
If this option is selected, your hearing aid gets 1st priority and immediate attention when received. Add $39 per hearing aid to either the Standard or Premium Repair Service.

Faceplate Replacement -                               Add $ 49 per aid      
In the very unlikely event that the faceplate of your hearing aid needs to be replaced, there will be an additional $49 charge. The faceplate is the outer most part of your hearing aid that contains all the controls such as: volume control, battery door, contacts, buttons and switches.  It does not normally go bad but may be physically broken. 

Shipping Charges:

D.i.Y. uses FedEx exclusiviely for all our shipping needs. When shipping your hearing aids back to you we require that the package be signed for (unless specifically waived by you). No Saturday delivieries. Your shipping cost is per shipment, not per aid (two hearing aids = one shipping charge).

Why do we ship using FedEx?  Your hearing aids are very important to us.  We want you to receive them from us on time and undamaged.  Yes, FedEx is slightly more expensive than some other available shipping vendors.  We have used them all in the past.  The reason we have chosen FedEx as our default shipper is that they have repeatedly been the most reliable. Most importantly they have NEVER lost one of our packages in shipping.

Important, Please Read:

Many times, when replacing parts, such as the hearing aid microphone or receiver (speaker), a dramatic increase in volume may occur.  Often times, in the progression of a hearing aid failure, your local hearing care provider may simply turn your hearing aid up louder and louder to compensate for deteriorating components.  When our technicians replace these parts, we are in fact, restoring the hearing aid to a "like new" condition.  However we do NOT have the necessary audiological information to accurately readjust the repaired hearing aid sound settings to match your hearing loss.  If the hearing aid is too loud or feedback occurs (a direct result of more amplification), additional sound adjustments may be needed. These adjustments would need to be made by your local hearing care provider.

Here's How To Order Your Repair

STEP 1.

Pay for your repair online using the link below and entering the quantity number (how many hearing aids) then click on checkout. Enter the required information and complete your order.

STEP 2.

Ship your hearing aids to us. When shipping your hearing aids to D.i.Y. Hearing Aids for repair, please put them in a crush proof box or container (an old plastic pill or vitamin bottle or it's original storage case will do).  Then put the crush proof container in a regular shipping box or envelope for shipping.  Include in the package a written description of the hearing aid problems your experiencing,  Your contact information, and return shipping address.
     
We also recommend that you insure and/or require someone in our office to sign for the receipt of your package. We are not responsible for lost or damaged packages being shipped to us. Add $39 at checkout for RUSH Service if desired.
